The clocks weren’t the only thing falling back on Sunday, as a return to Standard Time also found the Senior Bro losing ground in the Surfy standings for the first time in nearly a month.

It was a day that started in promising fashion for Glenn, whose Packers pulled away for a convincing 20-3 victory against the slumping Rams. But any thoughts he may have entertained about parlaying that win into something more meaningful were soundly dashed once the late afternoon games got underway. In a bye-shortened week that mostly was owned by home teams, the trend was Sean’s friend as both the Raiders and Eagles picked up home field victories to turn the tide.

There was never much in doubt about Vegas, which claimed a decisive 30-6 win over the Giants in the debut of interim head coach Antonio Pierce, who took the reins of the team from the fired Josh McDaniels. The Philly game was more of a nail-biter, with division rival Dallas in town looking to keep things close for the NFC East lead. Indeed, the Cowboys nearly pulled off an upset when late in the game, down by 5, they found themselves at the Eagles’ 8-yard-line with a 1st and 5. But a series of penalties and miscues pushed the team back to about the 30, and Dak Prescott’s potential game-winning toss to CeeDee Lamb was brought down short of the goal line, sealing a 28-23 defeat.

Sean took two of three splits to move 4 games up at the season’s midpoint. His 10-4 record in Week 9 was matched by that of Ben, who broke out of a tie with his dad to take sole possession of second place in the overall standings. Glenn, at 9-5, came home in third place to return to the bottom of the picks pile. It was a week of successful predictions for the Bros overall, as we all correctly picked winners Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Baltimore, Cleveland, Houston, New Orleans and Cincinnati. Three teams eluded us with their road wins, including Minnesota, Washington and the L.A. Chargers.
