There was a moment on Sunday afternoon when Sean checked in on the scoreboard of the day’s early games and remarked, “Wow, I might not get a single game right.” It wasn’t quite that bad, but almost. It might not yet be Halloween, but there were some frightful upsets in Week 7, and enough tricks played on the Bros’ prognosticating prowess that winning anything had to be considered a treat.

Every season has a Week 7, when at the end you think it would have been better to throw out any analysis you might have done and go the opposite way. Indeed, none of the Bros broke above .500 this week as the home teams, in a rare twist, did what you might expect them to do and won on their home turf. Indeed, nine of the 13 games were won by the homies, many of which were underdogs.

For the first time this season, the Bros put up a single split — Detroit at Baltimore — that resulted in Glenn gaining a game in the Surfy standings. And if we were expecting a nail-biter battle between two of the league’s heavyweights, it was anything but. The Ravens put on a clinic, opening up a 28-point lead before the half on their way to a 38-6 victory. Elsewhere, the Eagles outlasted the Dolphins in the week’s biggest matchup between two 5-1 teams, while the 49ers dropped their second straight, this time to Minnesota.

In a rare week when posting a losing record might still make you a winner, Ben did exactly that in going 6-7 for first place. Glenn wound up second at 5-8, while Sean struggled to a third place finish at 4-9, enabling his competition to inch closer in the overall standings. We were all correct on just four teams: Cleveland, Seattle, Kansas City and Philadelphia. Our mutual missteps were plenty; we whiffed on New England, New York Giants, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Denver and Minnesota.
