Week 2 might seem a bit early in the season for talk about having one’s back to the wall, but that is where the Senior Bro found himself on Monday night, with a split on the line and staring down the barrel of a potential 4-game deficit with a mere 32 games in the books.

On the heels of an opening week performance that was so disappointing that he accidentally gave himself and the rest of the Bros an additional loss when compiling the standings — an error that was quickly put right after Sean brought it to his attention! — Glenn hoped for better results from the Week 2 lineup that featured four splits.

Glenn and Sean each took one of the morning games: the Junior Bro winning behind the Colts’ 31-20 domination at Houston, while the Senior Bro held on for a 27-24 squeaker by Baltimore over Cincinnati. But it was the lone afternoon game that set the tone and the stage for Monday’s pivotal finale. In that one, Denver was on the verge of its fourth touchdown of the first half and a staggering lead on visiting Washington until Russell Wilson coughed up the football and the tide of the game turned. The moribund Commanders suddenly looked like a Stupor Bore-caliber powerhouse while roaring back to take the lead from the inept Broncos. Denver staged an unlikely last-second comeback when Wilson completed a hail mary pass to Brandon Johnson, but the team failed a 2-point conversion attempt to give Washington and the Junior Bro a 35-33 victory.

That left the Monday nighter between Cleveland and Pittsburgh to settle things. It was a sloppy performance by both teams, with plenty of critical sacks, fumbles, turnovers and interceptions to decide the outcome. In fact, it was T.J. Watt’s recovery of a Deshaun Watson fumble midway through the fourth quarter that resulted in the Steelers’ game-winning score. Pittsburgh held on for the 26-22 decision that gave the team its first victory of the young season and kept Glenn two games behind Sean on the leaderboard.

The two Bros tied for the week’s best record at 11-5. Meanwhile, Ben stumbled to a 7-9 finale that dropped him to third place in the overall standings, five games behind his uncle. Making the right call wasn’t so simple in Week 2, but we collectively managed to do so with Philadelphia, Buffalo, Kansas City, San Francisco, Dallas, Miami and New Orleans. The three winners that stumped us all were Atlanta, Seattle and Tennessee.
