Thanksgiving is an important date on the calendar not just as the beginning of the holidays, but also because it puts us two-thirds of the way through the football season. Yet while there was plenty of opportunity to swap pleasantries with family around the banquet table on Thursday afternoon, about the only things being split in Week 12 were pies and potatoes.

For the first time this season, the Bros failed to come up with a single split among the 16 scheduled games. But before you start thinking that we’ve reached a place of perfect agreement in our weekly prognostications, you would probably do well to consider that we could have just as easily split half a dozen games on this week’s menu — that’s how much of a toss-up these resembled, at least on paper.

Without a doubt, the marquee matchup of the week was the Sunday afternoon affair between the Bills and Eagles, the latter coming off an emotional Monday night victory over the defending Stupor Bore champion Chiefs. Philly shrugged off a short-week letdown by coming from behind to defeat Buffalo in overtime, 37-34. That probably disappointed 49ers fans like Sean, whose team had just inherited the No. 2 seed in the NFC by virtue of Detroit’s Thanksgiving morn 29-22 home upset at the hands of Green Bay. And while we were all sitting around like stuffed turkeys after a sumptuous Thursday feast, the Niners were digesting some turkeys of their own, taking down the Seahawks on the road in Seattle, 31-13.

In all, it turned out to be a pretty bland weekend with the Bros collectively notching 11-5 records to keep the Surfy and overall standings precisely where they were. Sean still leads both by a full 4 games. We all got 10 picks correct: Dallas, San Francisco, Miami, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Tennessee, L.A. Rams, Denver, Kansas City and Baltimore. The only four that no one got were Green Bay, Atlanta, N.Y. Giants and Chicago.
