“Football is a game of inches and inches make the champion.” We must assume the legendary Vince Lombardi knew what he was talking about when he uttered those words more than a half-century ago… or perhaps he was commenting on advance films from the 2025 GBF season. Were Lombardi with us today, he’d surely admire the nail-biter the Bros have so far been engaged in just three weeks into the year.

Coming off our second straight week without a single split, one might easily forget that Glenn and Sean are locked in a mortal struggle for Surfy supremacy. It is by sheer quirk of fate that they have been in complete agreement since the opening weekend, and more and more those initial eight splits are looking like the exception to the rule.

The Senior Bro retains his 2-game lead over the six-time champ, but we could easily be tied up. Glenn initially favored New England over Pittsburgh and Arizona over San Francisco until his muse came to him in the middle of the night and persuaded him otherwise. The Steelers came back for a 21-14 win, while the Niners prevailed 16-15 on a walk-off Eddy Pineiro field goal, moments after nearly losing on a safety.

That win keeps San Francisco in rare company with five other undefeated teams: Tampa Bay, Philadelphia, Buffalo, L.A. Chargers and Indianapolis. On the flip side, there are six teams that have yet to win in the 2025 season — New Orleans, Miami, Houston, Tennessee, and both teams from New York.

It was a great week to be at home, as 12 of the contests were won by the host team. Glenn, Ben and Sean all notched 11-5 records, meaning that Ben retains his 1-game advantage in the overall standings. Glenn trails him by 1 game, while Sean is 3 games back. We all got correct our picks of Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Washington, Philadelphia, Seattle, L.A. Chargers, San Francisco and Kansas City.
