The Bros took a breather in Week 2, going without a single split just one week after putting up eight of them. And while it was nice to have a break from chewing our nails to the quick (we might still be in recovery mode from the season opener!), it was a week of armchair quarterbacking and considering the what-ifs of splits not taken.

On paper, things looked much easier than Week 1 when we had almost zero information about the teams. Since then we have established that at least 16 clubs were good enough to go 1-0, and the rest have to prove themselves (quickly) if they hope not to become part of the number-one-draft-pick conversation. That includes the likes of Miami, Tennessee, Cleveland, New Orleans, Chicago, Carolina, Houston, both New Yorks, and yes even you, Kansas City. Yup, those are the 10 remaining denizens of Loserville — the saddest town in NawFuL Nation.

There were some memorable finishes in Week 2, even if we didn’t split them. The Giants gave the Cowboys everything they had, including a Russell Wilson TD bomb with less than a minute left to put New York ahead. But Dallas rode the leg of kicker Brandon Aubrey, who hit a monster 64-yard game-tying field goal to send the game to OT, where the ’Boys won it on a 46-yard Aubrey boot, 40-37.

Then there was the Broncos-Colts contest that came down to a last-second field goal attempt from the Colts for the win. When Spencer Shrader's 60-yarder sailed wide, the Broncos began to celebrate until they realized they’d been flagged for a 15-yard penalty. Shrader’s second attempt from 45 yards easily cleared the goal posts and the Colts escaped undefeated with a 29-28 win.

Monday night offered its share of drama, when the Texans appeared headed for victory after getting a go-ahead touchdown with 2:10 to play. But a missed 2-point conversion left the door open for the Buccaneers, and Baker Mayfield engineered his fifth career game-winning drive, scoring the winning TD with 6 seconds remaining. Tampa Bay 20, Houston 19.

There was a bit of drama in the GBF overall standings, as Ben’s 13-3 record moved him to the top of the leaderboard. Glenn and Sean tied for the week’s second-best mark at 11-5, which keeps the Senior Bro in second place overall, a game behind Ben and two ahead of Sean. We had a lot of agreement, including picking winners Green Bay, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Baltimore, San Francisco, Dallas, Detroit, Arizona, Philadelphia, and both Los Angeles teams. The three winners we completely missed were Seattle, Indianapolis, and Tampa Bay.
