You know you’ve reached December when you tune in for a football game and see snowflakes dancing across your screen and grown men shivering on the sidelines beneath giant heaters while they try to stay warm between plays. Snow, ice, mud and muck — that’s how football was meant to be played. Down and dirty in the trenches where every inch is earned, a victory tinged with the metallic taste of blood is twice as sweet, and the defeats are equally more bitter. That was Week 14 of the 2025 Gehlke Bros. Football season.

There may not have been snow in Jacksonville on Sunday, but the stakes were no less high as the Indianapolis Colts came to call, a piece of the division lead at stake. The two opponents have been heading in opposite directions lately — the Colts losers of three of their last four while the Jaguars were surging on the crest of a three-game winning streak. Indy hadn’t won in Jacksonville since 2014 yet they were favored on the road, proving that the oddsmakers still had plenty of respect for the league’s number-one overall scoring offense. Sean hoped that edge would be what the Colts needed to steal out of Florida with a victory. Fate had other plans.

Colts QB Daniel Jones went down with a torn Achilles in the first half, leaving the game in the hands of rookie backup Riley Leonard. Riley who? The Jags took advantage of the inexperienced quarterback and a team that never seemed to get in sync after that, and what had been billed as a tough division battle turned into a 36-19 rout that sent the Colts from a high seed in the playoffs to the outside looking in on the postseason hunt.

Glenn won the week’s lone split, pushing his advantage in the Surfy standings to 2 games with four weeks left in the season. It is the latest in the season that the Senior Bro has held a lead since 2018 — the last time he won the championship. Glenn and Ben tied for the best weekly record at 8-6, while Sean took third at 7-7 as we said farewell to the last of the brutal bye weeks. Amid a week of surprises, we all correctly picked Miami, Seattle, Green Bay, Denver, L.A. Rams and Buffalo. None of us picked New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Houston or L.A. Chargers to win.
