There's no shame in being a second-half team, especially if you are in the hunt and peaking in time for the playoffs. It's an enviable characteristic of many NawFuL champions, and has been a factor in a few Gehlke Bros. Football seasons over the years. But it's a fine line between being a late bloomer and just another also ran; you've got to hit your peak, but you have to do it while there is still a reasonable chance of success.

The Senior Bro has shown himself to be one of those second-half performers. When the temperature drops in November and December is when his season seems to heat up, and Week 14 was the warmest it's felt in a long time. Since falling 16 games behind Sean at the end of Week 10, he has whittled 5 games off the deficit. But it may be a case of too little, too late.

Glenn's big week began with a Thursday night split victory when Atlanta upset New Orleans, 20-17. There were four more splits on Sunday. Glenn got another boost when the Chiefs snapped a losing streak to beat the Raiders, 26-15. But Sean got a needed win in San Francisco's second straight victory, 26-16, over host Houston. The afternoon games were both close, but it was the Cardinals with a come-from-behind win over visiting Tennessee, 12-7, and the Eagles surviving a nail-biter with the Rams to clinch the NFC East with their 11th win of the season that gave the Senior Bro a 4-for-5 weekend, helping cut three games off his season Surfy deficit. The Junior Bro remains firmly in control of things, however, up 11 games with just three weeks to play.

Glenn won the week with a 10-6 record. Sean was second at 7-9, while Ben was third at 6-10. We all correctly picked the Chargers and Steelers to win. No one correctly predicted the victories of Jacksonville, Denver or Miami.
