At its essence, Thanksgiving is the celebration of three things: Food, Family and Football. In the NawFuL, it is also the celebration of something else: the end of the bye weeks, that twilight zone between 16-game schedules that end with Week 4 and resume in Week 12. And we acknowledge the conclusion of that long football fast with a football feast on Thanksgiving Day.

It what may have been one of the most predictable weekends of the season, the Gehlke Bros still made things interesting on Thursday, splitting two of the three holiday games. Glenn won the morning opener with Minnesota prevailing over Detroit, 30-23. But there was a generous sharing of the victory pie when the Chargers defeated the Cowboys, 28-6, in the afternoon to help Sean keep pace.

That took us to Sunday, which resulted in one more split between two division leaders: the Saints and the Rams. Los Angeles was in control most of the game and held off a late rally to defeat the Saints, 26-20, which gave the Senior Bro the rubber game — and back-to-back winning weeks for the first time in 2017. But Sean remains firmly in command of the Surfy race at 13 games to the good with just five weeks remaining.

Speaking of 13, that was how many correct picks Glenn had in Week 12, matching his season-best record at 13-3. Sean was second at 12-4. Ben wound up third at 9-7. We all gobbled up correct predictions with Atlanta, Cincinnati, Tennessee, New England, Seattle and Pittsburgh. Our lone turkey pick was Kansas City, which Buffalo sent to its third straight defeat.
