It used to be that the NawFuL confined its London games to once a season, and back then we all laughed and thought how convenient it was that the league exported its worst matchups overseas so that unwitting British audiences would pay big bucks to be entertained our most yawn-worthy teams. But nowadays they play three games there, and recently they have been anything but snoozers. In fact, we've had two weeks in a row in which the "London laughers" have had major implications for the Gehlke Bros. Football picks.

As with last week, Week 8 began with a split of the London game. Unlike last week, the two combatants played to a draw, proving yet again that, when it comes to the NawFuL, ties aren't just for Father's Day anymore. The Junior and Senior Bro hung out on their usual Sunday morning conference call to witness the full overtime period only to see the Redskins miss a game-winning field goal opportunity, the Bengals fail to capitalize, and then the 'Skins run out of time as they made one desperate final drive. Sean said he'd take that 27-27 tie over a loss, and by the end of the day it looked more like a win for him.

With three other splits on the schedule, it was a sure bet that one Bro would gain ground this week. We shared the spoils of the other morning games, Glenn getting a 30-20 win in Carolina's triumph over Arizona, and Sean taking Kansas City's 30-14 victory at Indianapolis. That brought us to the rubber game between Green Bay and Atlanta. It was FOX's game of the week, and you couldn't have asked for a more exciting contest, a real quarterback duel. But in the end it was Matt Ryan and Mohamed Sanu hooking up for the game-winning touchdown with 31 seconds to spare in the Falcons' 33-32 finale.

Sean's triumph capped an eventful Halloween weekend that saw three games go to overtime and netted the season's second tie game in a week. It also saw another change in the overall GBF standings as the Junior Bro crept past the Chaos Kid for second place. With just 13 games on the schedule and all but four games won by the host, Sean compiled a weekly best of 9-3-1, Glenn was second at 8-4-1, and Ben managed to break even at 6-6-1 in third. We all correctly predicted the wins of Tennessee, Houston, New England, Denver and Dallas. We all missed out on predicting winners New Orleans and Chicago.
