The Bros hate waking up before the sun rises on Sunday morning, so that is why whenever the NawFuL moves its games to jolly ole England, we try to pick those games a day or two beforehand. When we remember, that is. The Los Angeles Rams aren't the only ones who'd like to forget their Week 7 trip across the pond, after they ran up a 10-point lead on the Giants, only to give up 17 unanswered points in a 17-10 defeat.

As it turned out, the London game — which we posted Saturday night — was one of four splits on the schedule, and it staked the Senior Bro to an advantage before we'd barely had time to wipe the sleepers from our eyes for our weekly picks conference call. It was fortunate for him that the game went his way, because the rest of the weekend was not quite so kind.

The Gehlke Bros each saw victory in the remaining morning games — Sean picking up a win with Detroit's late 20-17 comeback against visiting Washington, and Glenn responding in kind when Indianapolis handled the feisty Titans in a 34-26 final. That left the afternoon's lone split between the Buccaneers and the 49ers to decide whether Glenn would widen his lead in the Surfy standings or if Sean could remain within 4 games. The Junior Bro wisely stuck with the Bucs and was rewarded with a 34-17 win.

There was absolutely no movement in the standings this week, as Glenn, Sean and Ben managed identical 8-6-1 records. That "1" comes thanks to the Seahawks and Cardinals, neither of whom were interested in winning a defensive battle that ended in a 6-6 tie at the end of overtime, after each team's kicker missed an easy field goal. We all correctly picked Kansas City, Cincinnati, New England and Denver. No one predicted Philadelphia, the New York Jets or San Diego would win.
