You can count on a week like this one coming along every season or two, when the NawFuL universe falls into a black hole (we don't mean the one in Oakland's coliseum) and the laws of football prognostication no longer apply. Such was Week 10, in which 11 of the 14 games were won by the visiting team, and several of the huge favorites fell to generally weaker opponents. Bring on the carnage, Gehlke Bros. Football style.

Thursday offered a glimpse of the weekend ahead, when the Bills visited the Jets in "The Battle of Teams that Associate with New York." No, the Jets do not actually play in New York, so perhaps that had something to do with them resembling hapless San Diego as they chose to skip two easy field goals in favor of failed fourth-down conversion tries en route to a 22-17 defeat. The split victory for Sean gave him the advantage heading into Sunday, when two more splits surfaced.

The remaining games that mattered both took place in the morning. Glenn drew even when visiting Chicago got its first victory of the year against an NFC opponent in a 37-13 thrashing of St. Louis. But it was a late touchdown by the Bucs that put them ahead for good in a 10-6 win over the Cowboys in Tampa Bay, one of the week's few exceptions to the win-on-the-road trend that secured a winning week for the Junior Bro, his first since Week 5.

The home curse became almost as laughable as it was incredible, with the Packers dropping their third straight in a home loss to the woeful Lions, Denver getting dumped by Kansas City as Peyton Manning tossed four interceptions on the day he set the league's all-time passing record, and Houston handing Cincinnati its first defeat of the season in a low-scoring Monday night snoozer — a most fitting way to conclude an otherwise surreal week.

Sean did the "least terrible" of the Bros with his 6-8 record, probably a basement finish any other week, but good enough for first place in Week 10. Glenn was second at 5-9, losing a game off his lead in the Surfy quest but feeling relieved that it wasn't much worse. Ben was third at 4-10. We all correctly predicted the wins of Pittsburgh (with Ben Roethlisberger playing as a backup QB) and New England (still perfect at 9-0), but we missed a bundle of other winners, including Jacksonville, Detroit, Miami, Minnesota, Kansas City, Arizona and Houston.
