Bros battle on Thanksgiving night

No, it wasn’t the Gehlke Bros. fighting over the last slice of cranberry sauce, and it wasn’t a dispute over the size of Sean’s sizable lead in the race for the Surfy Trophy. This was a battle for the ages, waged on the football field, between the Brothers Harbaugh, John and Jim, as the 49ers visited the Ravens.

The first time in NawFuL history that two brothers had faced each other as coaches, it was Senior Bro John who bested Junior Bro Jim by a final of 16-6 in favor of Baltimore. But the outcome had little impact on the Brothers Gehlke, who both picked the Niners to win.

The real action came Sunday, when Denver took to the field in San Diego against the reeling Chargers. It was more Tim Tebow magic for the Broncos as they rallied from a late deficit to tie the game and then win it in overtime, 16-13, winning their fourth in a row and sending the Chargers to their sixth straight defeat.

The outcome moved the Senior Bro back to within six games of the lead after a disastrous Week 11. But it was Ben who once again stole the show, going 14-2 and working himself into a tie with Sean for the overall lead in the standings. Glenn was second at 13-3, while Sean went 12-4. We correctly predicted the outcomes of 11 games, including winners Green Bay, Dallas, Cincinnati, Houston, the N.Y. Jets, Carolina, Tennessee, Atlanta, New England, Pittsburgh and New Orleans. Our one collective miss was Washington’s toppling of Seattle.
