Sean was able to scare up some good luck with penalty-prone Cleveland's 27-20 victory over winless St. Louis. Later, it was Buffalo triumphing in the battle of New York (or is that northern New Jersey?) as they dumped the hapless Jets at the Meadowlands, 13-3. For the Junior Bro, his sudden 2-game lead in the standings must feel like the morning after going through a whole sack of candy on Halloween night: a sickening-yet-satisfied fullness.

Sean was scary-good in Week 8, going 10-3 for the best record. Glenn went 8-5, while Ben was 7-6. We all were enchanted by the success of Indianapolis, Tennessee, San Diego, New Orleans and New England. We felt cursed by the likes of Chicago and Tampa Bay.

...And winless Miami probably felt doubly cursed by having to play in foggy, rainy, muddy London as they lost to the New York Giants — 13-10.
