Losers win, winners lose, the sky falls ... and the lead shrinks

Every season it seems like we get a couple of weeks like the one we just completed, where the weaklings prevail and the usually good teams get thrown on their ears or other parts of their anatomy. Such was Week 15, which saw the Dolphins finally win a game, the playoff-bound Cowboys, Steelers and Giants get upended at home, the Browns win an 8-0 snow-fest, and the Senior Bro slice another game off his deficit in the Gehlke Bros. Football Picks competition.

The lone split was the Tennessee-Kansas City game, in which the Titans prevailed 26-17. The outcome whittled what three weeks ago was a 7-game Junior Bro advantage down to three games with just two weeks remaining on the season. But if the Senior Bro is entertaining any thoughts of a Brett Favre-like comeback in the closing days of 2007, there were plenty of missed opportunities in Week 15.

Glenn won the week at a mortal-looking 9-7. Sean was 8-8, while Ben finished 7-9. We all correctly predicted wins by Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Green Bay, New England, Indianapolis, San Diego and Minnesota. However, we all incorrectly picked Denver, Cincinnati, Baltimore (Miami's first victim!), Pittsburgh, Seattle, Dallas and the N.Y. Giants.

EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT, COURTESY THE NAWFUL: The football elves will be working overtime in Week 16, with Thursday and Saturday action in addition to the usual Sunday and Monday schedule. (Maybe they should just call it the four days of Christmas...) We'll have picks on Thursday.
