Not all Thanksgiving turkeys taste alike

Perhaps it is fitting that in the week when Thursday night football returned to the schedule, all three of the Thanksgiving Day games were predictable mismatches. Wait a minute... did we say predictable? Don't tell that to the Senior Bro, who thought the underdog Lions would feast on Packer cheese heads as a pre-dinner snack.

The Lions made a game of it early before eventually getting swamped by the visiting Packers, giving Sean an advantage in the weekly Gehlke Bros. Football picks that he would retain through the remainder of the prolonged Week 12.

Glenn evened the score in early games Sunday when the Saints beat the Panthers. But in the rubber game that afternoon it came down to Chicago's overtime come-from-behind 37-34 victory against Denver, which boosted the Junior Bro's lead to seven games with five weeks remaining in the season. That makes five consecutive weeks in which Sean has gained ground in his quest for the Surfy trophy.

Sean was 11-5 for the weekend, while Glenn went 10-4 and Ben was 8-8. We all were thankful for our prognosticating successes with Dallas, Indianapolis, Tampa Bay, Seattle, San Diego, New England and Pittsburgh (in an oh-so-exciting Monday night 3-0 rain-fest with visiting Miami). But we found the short end of the wishbone with our picks of losers Kansas City, the New York Giants, Tennessee and Arizona.

NOT-SO-FAST THURSDAY NIGHT ALERT: Yup, we do it all again in Week 13 when the Packers visit the Cowboys, so predictions coming your way Thursday. (Why couldn't this be the Monday night game???)
